Who qualifies
Current students, and recent graduates, of a barber, hairdressing or apprentice school or program.
We take your word for it. There is nothing to upload and no student card to show. If it turns out not to be true, we may end the free year.
What you get
The Solo plan, for one specialist, free for a year. The year counts from the day you sign up and takes the place of the usual 30-day free trial, rather than adding to it. No card is needed.

How to claim it
Sign up
Create your shop on HotSeat. It takes a few minutes and you do not need a card.
Say you are a team of one
The first time you open your dashboard, we ask how big your team is. Choose 1 specialist.
Tick the student box
A box for students and recent grads appears. Tick it and tell us your school and program. That is for our own records, not to check you.
Agree to two things
Confirm you are eligible and say yes to sharing, both explained below. Nothing is ticked for you. Then confirm, and your year starts.
You claim it during your first 30 days. If you skip the prompt, you can still claim it from Settings, then Billing, in that window.

You confirm this yourself. We do not check.
We may share your shop's public page
Your shop's profile, photos, services and booking link, on HotSeat's LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. Never customer data. You confirm you have the right to share any staff photos you publish. You can ask us to stop at any time by emailing info@hotseatbooking.ca, and you keep your free year.
When the year ends
Add a card to keep going
Your shop continues on Solo at $4.95 CAD a month. We email you about a month before the year ends, and again as the date gets close.
No card, no charge
If you do not add one, your shop pauses, the same as any free trial that ends without a card.
If your team grows past one specialist
In your first 30 days, you get the rest of the normal free trial on the bigger plan. After that, billing for the bigger plan starts on the day you make the change.
